Janine DuMontelle, Vice President and General Counsel at Chapman University (where she established the first in-house counsel office). Prior to coming to Chapman University in 1998, she spent eight years serving in the administration of the College of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, and five years preceding that as staff to the City of Long Beach, Civil Service Commission. Janine is presently serving as NACUA’s Treasurer. Janine’s prior NACUA service includes being an at-large member of the Board of Directors. In addition to her affiliation with NACUA, she is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association and Association of Corporate Counsel. She serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors for Orange County Council BSA, on the Advisory Board for J. Serra High School Law Magnet Program. Janine is a frequently requested speaker by higher education associations.
Janine is a magna cum laude, graduate of Whittier Law School, where she served as Managing Editor of the Law Review. She received her Master's Public Administration, from California State University, Fullerton and her Bachelor of Science, degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Janine is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.
