As EVP and CFO, Anderson is responsible for leading the successful financial and operational performance of the institution as well as providing leadership, strategic vision, long range planning and coordination of all budget, financial planning, facility administration, information technology, health and safety, police administration, contract administration and correctional medicine functions. Anderson also provides confidential and expert guidance and counsel to the president related to all areas of responsibility and assures that the organization is on a path that will achieve the goals outlined in the institution's Strategic Plan.
Prior to his appointment, Anderson was the Chief Financial Officer of Kalon Biotherapeutics, LLC (Kalon), a startup company he helped create, and leading the financial team along with key management in the sale of Kalon to FujiFilm Diosynth.
Anderson was the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Texas A&M University System (A&M System) and served for over 27 years at the A&M System. As a direct report to the Chancellor and a member of the Chancellor’s Executive Committee, he was responsible for system wide financial accounting and reporting oversight, the annual operation budgeting process, investment management, debt management, the direction of tax and fiscal activities, financial activities and functions related to legislative appropriations process, purchasing, human resources, risk management, benefits administration and facilities, planning & construction for the A&M System.
