David Bea has served as the Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at Pima Community College, in Tucson, Arizona, since 2007. In this role, he serves as the Chief Financial Officer for a district educating approximately 42,000 students per year at five campus locations. In addition to finance and business operations, he oversees the Information Technology, Employee Service Center, and Human Resources units for the College. Dr. Bea joined Pima Community College in 2004 as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance and was selected as Vice Chancellor for Finance in 2006. Prior to PCC, Dr. Bea worked in various positions at Claremont University Consortium in Claremont, California.
He currently serves as the Vice President for the Arizona Community Colleges Business Officers Council and as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
Dr. Bea holds a Doctorate of Philosophy and a Master of Arts, both in Education, from Claremont Graduate University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Colgate University.
He has been awarded: the Rising Star Award by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO); the 40 under 40 Award by Tucson BusinessEdge.com; the Outstanding Chief Business Officer Award by the Community College Business Officers Association; and second place in the 2016 CFO Awards for Government/Education by Inside Tucson Business.
