Description

Colleges and universities are more than a year into implementation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and debate continues among tax practitioners on compliance approaches to many aspects of the new law. Join members of the Tax Council and NACUBO’s senior director of federal affairs for this update, where they will discuss developments from the Internal Revenue Service, Capitol Hill, NACUBO’s work on tax issues, and the how tax reform is impacting colleges and universities. Panelists will also examine practical considerations for institutions of higher education in the short term and in the long term.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how tax reform measures have been implemented on campus—sometimes with little federal guidance
  • Consider tax-planning strategies for covering the costs and administering the payment of your institution’s new tax bills
  • Gain insight into how further legislative or regulatory action may shift the higher ed landscape
