Educating students with financial literacy skills will equip them to make informed financial decisions in college and guide them towards financial security and wellness long-after graduation, but it requires the dedication and focus of students, faculty, and staff from varied offices across campus. Further, the risk posed to an institution by an increasing loan default rate should not be underestimated. Hear representatives from two different institutions describe their financial literacy education programs. They will discuss how their financial literacy programs and resources serve a diverse student body and will share best practices and lessons learned to encourage others to implement similar programs.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify key student needs and necessary partners to incorporate financial literacy resources into a holistic university education
  • Explore varied programming models for optimized student support and impact
  • Understand institutional benefits derived from implementing financial literacy supports and resources
