Description

The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD) is leading a collaborative partnership with the Dallas Independent School District and the Dallas County Community College District. This integrated partnership works with Early College High Schools (ECHS) and provides students with experience and for-credit courses in a college setting. Panelists will present a practical cost/benefit analysis for the early ECHS program with easily customizable data options; they will also explore and discuss variations of the model that make the program more affordable for each collaborative partner. Finally, micro-adjustments and future improvements will be illustrated to address customization of the model to fit diverse settings for different institutions and among states with various funding models.

Learning Objectives

  • Provide cost and benefit figures that can inform leadership decisions
  • Create business models that adapt to university/college and/or independent school district needs
  • Control the indirect costs of the program for higher education institutions
