Melody Bianchetto, a Certified Public Accountant, was named the Vice President for Finance at the University of Virginia in 2015. She oversees financial operations (accounting, financial reporting, procurement, and payroll), treasury, financial planning & analysis, student financial services, and enterprise risk management, as well as the University’s Finance Strategic Transformation project. Melody began her UVA career as a budget analyst in 1996, after working in public accounting at EY in Washington, D.C. and Henderson & Everett, PC in Charlottesville.
Melody earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from James Madison University. Melody presents regularly at national and regional conferences on higher education finance and management and received NACUBO's Rising Star Award in 2014.
Melody is on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officer (EACUBO); she serves as treasurer for the Virginia Network for Women in Higher Education and the World Peace Game Foundation.
