Description

What lies ahead on the legislative and regulatory landscape for higher education? NACUBO’s federal affairs team will offer observations and analysis of major legislative and regulatory changes, exploring both challenges and opportunities for colleges and universities in the months and years ahead. As policymakers explore proposals asking colleges to put more “skin in the game” and demanding accountability, how should business officers make the case that laws and regulations should neither make it costlier for institutions to provide a quality education, nor create a disincentive for institutions to expand access to high-risk student populations?

Learning Objectives

  • Gain insight into new legislation and Congressional actions that impact colleges and universities.
  • Understand regulatory changes that will impact campuses in the coming months.
  • Assess the possible effects of federal budget decisions.
  • Explore the business officer’s role as a public advocate for higher education.
