The University of Massachusetts’ five-campus system recently embarked on a two-year Business Process Review (BPR) initiative designed to align major business functions, streamline and standardize processes, and establish an overall readiness to adopt the next generation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The presenters will demonstrate how to identify key areas for review, engage staff, and develop an implementation plan for process review. To solidify the learning experience, participants will practice lean techniques used in the review processes.

Learning Objectives

  • Create a business process review project plan based on your institution’s strategic goals.
  • Identify key functional areas for review in order to articulate future needs of data-driven processes.
  • Grasp the advantages of a customer-centric process improvement approach to system planning.
