By cutting textbook costs, open education resources (OER) have helped many institutions serve more students while changing the way faculty deliver course instruction. The speakers will explore OER as a solution to the cost of textbooks, which often represents a barrier to student access to education, and discuss how OER and administrative services overlap to better support students.

Learning Objectives

  • Employ OER to improve student access to education, achievement, and retention.
  • Explore ways that institutional financial services can effectively support open education projects.
  • Understand how open education work impacts administration services such as risk management, fiscal decision making, and institutional investments.
