Description

Over time, campus policies can proliferate out of control, leading to inconsistency, uncertainty, and inefficiency. Using case studies and small group questions to facilitate discussion, the panelists will share their experiences with managing a large-scale overhaul of Emory University’s organizational policies. They will discuss how they identified and organized more than 14,000 existing policies and procedures, consolidated and rewrote them across 42 working groups, and transitioned to a new policy management system with a much smaller number of consolidated policies. Each phase of the project will be summarized, as well as the associated costs, challenges, and benefits.
