Description

A new era of Public Private Partnerships (P3s) has brought forth a wider range of innovative opportunities for universities. Specific case studies from three unique institutions will present five powerful trends P3’s can address; facilitating corporate partnerships, addressing aging housing stock (and removing deferred maintenance), improving town/gown relations and offering new avenues for revenues. Panelists will speak about their own experiences relative to these trends and address how they approached and structured their P3s in order to meet these objectives. Additionally this session will explore how a variety of P3 deal types have been used to accomplish objectives.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe changes in public–private partnerships during the last five years, including emerging trends.
  • Determine how to explain a P3 to a board of directors, develop clear goals, assemble a team, and minimize risks.
  • Create the appropriate transaction structure to meet your institution’s development objectives.
