Description

Many colleges and universities have suffered, or will soon suffer, from severe financial distress. Some have already closed. In this session, speakers will explore the key symptoms of financial distress and what steps your institution should take to become or remain sustainable for the long term. (Because of the topic’s confidential nature, the case studies presented will not identify the institutions involved.)

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how changes in the external environment, coupled with internal cultural behaviors, can create severe financial distress.
  • Learn key institutional indicators, including early warning signs, that can lead to severe financial distress.
  • Consider specific ways to change your own institution’s trajectory and improve long-term financial sustainability.
