Description

As fiduciaries, retirement plan sponsors are entrusted with the duty of protecting their participants’ assets. One way to maximize assets is to consolidate recordkeeping vendors and investment options, thereby gaining economies of scale and lowering costs. In this session, presenters will focus on actions to help universities develop reasonable processes for evaluating consolidation options, with an eye toward simplification, and share case studies demonstrating how they have managed these issues for 403(b) plans.

Learning Objectives

  • Articulate a reasonable end goal for a recordkeeper and investment option structure.
  • Recognize best practices related to evaluating recordkeepers and investment options.
  • Examine how some institutions have implemented meaningful improvements to their 403(b) plans.
