Shelley Clark Nickel is the Executive Vice Chancellor for Strategy and Fiscal Affairs for the Board of Regents, University System of Georgia (USG). She oversees the allocation of state appropriations and the financial performance of the USG institutions and the system as a whole. Shelley is also responsible for implementing the Board’s strategic plan and system-wide projects such as consolidation. The Board’s Information Technology Services and Research and Policy Analysis departments also fall under her direction.
Shelley has served as the Interim President of Gordon State College and as director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget. She was also the president of the Georgia Student Finance Commission, which is responsible for the state’s scholarship, grant, and loan programs, including HOPE.
She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Penn State University.
