W. Scott Cole has served as Vice President and General Counsel for the University of Central Florida since 2002. Prior to joining the university, he served as Associate General Counsel for the University of Florida for 10 years. In addition, Mr. Cole practiced commercial litigation in Jacksonville, Florida with the law firms of Brant, Moore, Macdonald and Wells and Kirschner, Main.
Mr. Cole received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.
Mr. Cole is an active member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, having served as a member of the Board of Directors and on numerous committees. He also serves as a member of the American Bar Association’s accreditation review team, conducting site reviews of law schools around the country.
Mr. Cole serves on the Board of Directors for the Small Business Development Center in Orlando, Florida. He is a multi-year recipient of the Florida Legal Elite award, awarded to the top 2% of attorneys in Florida as determined by members of the Florida Bar.
Mr. Cole is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District Court of Florida and the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals
