Paul S. Dworkis serves as the Associate Vice President for Finance & Chief Financial Officer of the University of Maryland. Dworkis is responsible for the finance, accounting, and related business services at the university, the largest in Maryland and in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Before University of Maryland, Dworkis served as Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration for Columbia University’s Student & Administrative Services Division. Previously, he held several leadership positions at Newsweek Inc., including seven years as Sr. Vice President & CFO, responsible for global finance, technology and facilities.
Dworkis is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International. He earned his M.B.A. in Accounting from the Zicklin School of Business at CUNY/Bernard Baruch College in Manhattan and a B.S. in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
