Mary Catherine “MC” Gaisbauer is the Assistant Controller – Contracts and Grants Accounting (CGA) for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). MC reports to the UCSF Controller and her responsibilities include post-award management and financial oversight of sponsored research from award setup to close out; managing billing, collections, and financial reporting as well as monitoring post award compliance and sponsored research data analysis and strategic projects. MC also serves on the board of directors for UCSF’s non-governmental organizations and serves as advisory for international research operations. Prior to coming to UCSF, MC worked as the Comptroller for Purdue University with responsibility for bursar, collections, card office, risk management, accounting, financial reporting, costing, payroll, taxes, business systems, business training, compliance, and international program administration. She came to Purdue from University of Colorado, where she served as the Associate Vice President and System Controller with responsibility for procurement, financial system, financial reporting, tax compliance as well as Senior Director of Finance and Psychiatric Hospital Administrator. She began her professional career with KPMG in assurance and advisory services. MC holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and maintains her CPA (Colorado).
