RDML (Ret) Dave Duryea is a graduate of University of Rochester and George Washington University. He served on submarines LAPON, PUFFER, HONOLULU and commanded the Submarine USS FLORIDA. Other assignments include the USS Nimitz Battle Group and the Pacific Submarine Force Chief Engineer. He managed 3 different acquisition programs developing new high tech systems including Imaging and Electronic Warfare Systems to Special Forces Submersibles. As an Admiral he was the Naval Sea Systems Command Deputy Commander for Undersea Warfare and Commander, Naval Undersea Warfare Center where he led a work force of 6000 people with a $1.6B budget.

He is currently the Vice President for Finance and Management at SUNY Cortland where he leads the Division of Finance and Management. He is responsible for managing the $100M budget for the College community in furtherance of the mission of SUNY Cortland. He also functions as the SUNY Cortland Research Foundation (RF) Operations Manager. The SUNY RF provides essential services to SUNY faculty, students and staff who are performing life-changing research in life sciences and medicine; engineering and nanotechnology; physical sciences and energy; social sciences; and computer and information sciences.
