Daniel Updegrove is an independent consultant on information technology in higher education, with clients including universities, inter-university consortia, and business firms. He previously served as VP for IT and adjunct professor of Information at the University of Texas at Austin, CIO and adjunct professor of Electrical Engineering at Yale University, Associate CIO at University of Pennsylvania, VP of Educom, and Research Associate at National Bureau of Economic Research. He has published and spoken widely on financial and IT management in the U.S. and abroad and served on advisory boards of Apple, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Network Appliance, and Software AG. In 2006 he received the Educause Leadership Award “for consistently thoughtful guidance and collaborative leadership of IT initiatives at institutional, regional, and national levels.”
