Dan Layzell is Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration at Louisiana State University, where he serves as the chief financial officer for the University’s statewide operations, as well as serving as the chief financial officer of LSU’s flagship campus in Baton Rouge. Immediately prior to joining LSU, he served as Vice President for Finance and Planning at Illinois State University, and before that as Associate Vice President for Planning and Administration at the University of Illinois. He also was Deputy Director of Planning and Budgeting for the Illinois Board of Higher Education, a partner in the higher education practice of MGT of America, Inc., a consulting firm based in Tallahassee, Florida, Director of Policy Analysis and Research for the University of Wisconsin System, and a fiscal analyst for the Arizona and Florida Legislatures. Dr. Layzell has also been an adjunct faculty member in the graduate programs in higher education administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Florida State University, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Layzell has a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Florida State University, a master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Illinois College.
