Aaron Howell has served as the Vice President for Business and Finance/Chief Financial Officer of Averett University since June of 2015. He oversees the Controller, Human Resources, Student Financial Services, Facilities Services, Campus Security, IT and the Endowment. Prior to this role, Aaron served as the Assistant Vice President and Controller for Oregon State University for over 19 years - overseeing the central accounting and reporting functions for the University including Student Accounts, the Office of Post-Award Administration, Payroll, ID Center and Financial Accounting & Analysis. He has also worked in State and Federal positions as well as for a private environmental firm earlier in his career. Aaron has both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from OSU and is a CPA, CPPO and a C.P.M. Aaron has a wife and two sons. Throughout his career, Aaron has managed many complex initiatives including pouring rights contracts, public-private partnerships, and the implementation of a university-wide shared services project. He has always been dedicated to seeking process improvements and to empowering his team to provide an effective balance between compliance and excellent customer service.
